The wave washes over you.
Submerged, you race to the surface.
Gasping, you breathe deeply, choking on the water that fills your mouth.
Looking back you see calmer waves.
Fretful, you swim on.
The water is colder, breathing harder.
Your mind races, "why am I going out here?"
Wave after wave crashes down, stroke after stroke you try to move forward.
You don't even realize you're drowning.
